on assignment: hospital maintainence

I did a corporate shoot for an engineering and maintenance firm at a couple of hospitals the other day. It was mostly your standard annual report stuff, but I did manage to sneak in some photojournalism. The M8 failed miserably and stayed in the bag. It was far too dark in most of the locations, and some creative flash work was required: good thing I brought the D90.

  1. You know, I trust your opinion and I'm not arguing, just curious and want to know more: How did the M8 fail in these conditions? (note, I dont have this camera or give 2 hoots about defending Leica)

This is a good set of photos btw.

  2. Thanks Sypro. It failed simply because it was dark - the M8's color isn't good above 640. Alternative is flash, of course - but again the M8 doesn't work so well with flashes. So I had to resort to the backup D90 - color is great to 3200, and of course flash work is a breeze, especially with CLS and the SB900.
