and getting back to photojournalism...

...we have a prime example of Fuzzbucket's observations - just look at the equipment masturbators in the entire foreground of this image (there are more of them than people actually just watching the show!), shot at a large local mall:

Exposure compensation, Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur
Leica M8, 35/2 Summicron-M ASPH

Float
Leica M8, 35/2 Summicron-M ASPH

I'll be damned if you need a telephoto to shoot fashion. A long time ago, this kind of work used to be part of my commercial portfolio. Just use your feet and get closer.

And finally, there isn't anybody who wouldn't benefit even just a little from a healthy dose of constructive criticism. After all, photography is art, and art is subjective to the artist's point of view: how do you keep pushing yourself otherwise if not for seeing different perspectives? It is said that the Magnum meetings turn into serious ragging sessions on a regular basis. If one didn't at least get balanced comments, you'd never know when you'd captured THE shot. Fuzzbucket and I trade positive insults all the time. But occasionally we do shut up and just appreciate too, when the image warrants it.
