Occasionally, we have to attend to issues that are not entirely pleasant. It's wonderful when one is greeted by a friendly face as a prelude to potentially painful, tear-inducing experiences. An already fragile mental constitution may be irreparably rattled, when that smiling face suddenly disappears.
